Isopure Water (ISO-RO4DI) 4 Stage Reef-Aquarium Deionized Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System 75 GPD

RO/DI units are for Reef/Aquarium enthusiasts who require only the purest of water and when reverse osmosis is not enough. Reverse osmosis removes a large majority of TDS (total dissolved solids) but not enough of it. TDS is can be lowered to extremely low levels by using a DI (deionization) filter. With our systems, you will typically get ZERO to near ZERO TDS readings!!!

  • Easy to install
  • Affordable replacement filters
  • Great tasting water

Portability

Isopure Water’s Reverse Osmosis/De-Ionizing System is designed to be conveniently moved from one location to another. Weighing at less than 20 pounds, you can hook it up, obtain the amount of water you need and store it out of the way for later use.

99.9% Contaminants Removal/Reduction

The RO does most of the work removing up to 97% of contaminants. A DI filter is used as a polishing filter to finish the work by removing the remaining making it 99.9% effective in removing unwanted substances commonly found in tap water. The TDS (total dissolved solids) are reported to drop to ZERO or near ZERO TDS LEVELS.

How It Works

Reverse Osmosis: First, you would need to know what a normal osmosis is. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Osmosis the natural process which occurs when water flows from a purer solution through a semi permeable membrane into a more concentrated solution. Reverse Osmosis, on the other hand is a mechanical process that uses water pressure to force concentrated solutions, water, to flow to a more purified water source.

Deionization:

DI stands for deionization or demineralization. DI filtration is used when there is a need for ultra-pure water or non-electrical current water. DI resin contains a mixture of beads that are positively and negatively charged. These beads attach themselves to any charged ion and then release hydrogen ions or hydroxide ions in return. The product water is then considered deionized. It is best to use these DI filters as a post filter to reverse osmosis to maximize the life of the DI resin.

How Substances Are Separated by a Membrane

Reverse Osmosis/De-Ionizing uses a semi-permeable membrane that allows fluid that is being purified pass through while it rejects the remaining contaminants down the drain. It is always a 1:4 ratio. For every 1 gallon product water, there is 4 gallons of waste water.
