Using a membrane filter cartridge in conjunction with a carbon block, sediment filter, and mixed-bed color-changing deionization cartridge, the RO water filter unit works to effectively remove harmful substances from water such as heavy metal ions, total dissolved solids (TDS), chlorine, particulate material, and general chemical reduction from tap water.
Sediment Filter Cartridge is the first stage of your RO unit.captures and reduces unwanted particulate material such as sand, silt, and rust from water which affect the taste and appearance of your water. Recommended change 3-6 months or 3,500 gallons total or 900 gallons of filtered water.
5-Micron Activated Carbon Block Filter is the second stage of your RO unit. It reduces chlorine and conditions the water prior to the RO membrane filter. Recommended change 3-6 months or 3,500 gallons total or 900 gallons of filtered water (at 1 ppm chlorine).
RO Membrane Filter is the third stage of your RO unit. It reduces impurities Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from the water down to 1 out of 10,000 of a micron, reducing arsenic, lead, cysts, copper, and more. Recommended change 12-24 months.
Color-Changing Resin (Deionization) is the fourth stage of your RO unit. Uses Cation and Anion resins (H+ and OH-) to remove Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from membrane-filtered water. Replace filter when resin changes color completely to tan. Clear micron cartridge housing makes it easy to view when the cartridge needs to be replaced.
